Pear Compote on Pie Crust Cutouts.

These little pie crust cutouts with or without compote will disappear faster than a pie. Take it from a pie eater who usually leaves the crust behind, this pie crust recipe with a sprinkling of cinnamon & sugar is simply irresistible.  Of course, you can use this foolproof recipe for your pie crust too. I would definitely eat this crust.  Recipe follows…

Pie Crust (Cutouts)

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
heaping 3/4 c. shortening
1/3 c. milk with 1 tsp. vinegar
Sugar & Cinnamon mixture for sprinkling

Combine flour, salt and shortening until crumbly. Stir in liquid. Roll out dough on floured surface and cut out with favorite cookie cutters. Place on baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned on bottom.
