With Meatballs?

Chicken meatballs were a surprisingly good addition to this hearty chicken soup. The meatballs were homemade, but the dumplings were frozen in the package. The carrots, added at the end, were from a can. Overall, it was a great soup without a lot of trouble. Recipe follows… (more…)

Let Me Eat Cake!

Cold weather and boredom prompted a quick tea party.  Susie and I had a blast & you were lucky if she let you have any cookies.  When the older kids got home from school, they couldn’t sneak a cookie without a fuss.  If you wanted a cookie, you had to play tea party.  Fortunately, it doesn’t take much time to whip up a quick batch of 16 cookies.  See recipe (more…)

Missed Music Monday

One of my best bloggy friends, Intrepid, always has music Mondays.  I’ve been futzing with this flighty post for days, trying to get it to post properly. This is my 14 year old daughter singing. I wrote the lyrics to “Prince Charming” & “Belonging” (except the part where she says “now” twice…that drives me nuts…I didn’t do that). Digression is the new progress. Anyway, she wrote and played the music to those two songs.  And, she completely wrote “Home” herself. Let me know what you think!
