Missed Music Monday

One of my best bloggy friends, Intrepid, always has music Mondays. I’ve been futzing with this flighty post for days, trying to get it to post properly. This is my 14 year old daughter singing. I wrote the lyrics to “Prince Charming” & “Belonging” (except the part where she says “now” twice…that drives me nuts…I didn’t do that). Digression is the new progress. Anyway, she wrote and played the music to those two songs. And, she completely wrote “Home” herself. Let me know what you think!

Wow! Very beautiful! I got a bit choked up listening to Belonging and then bawled listening to Home. Good work, ladies! So, so talented! Miss you.

Oh Wow! I’ve been tied up with travel and work and I’m just getting here. Thanks for alerting me with your comment. I would have stopped by eventually looking for a great recipe but this is a fabulous surprise. I regret that I’m two days late. Anyway, I love it! You two make a great team. Your daughter is quite talented in all three areas…. Writing (lyrics and music), Singing, & playing! My personal favorite is “Prince Charming.” I’m not quite sure why either. It may take a few more listens to establish why. Maybe it’s the best fit- Lyrics, vocals, & Music. From a commercial point of view, I trust your daughter will have a fulfilling music career ahead of her in some capacity. She’s too talented to be a hobbyist. (smile) She’s no doubt at a transitional age (14) where it’s tough to have a universal appeal and her target audience may be changing from a kids crowd to young adult and then on to contemporary adults. As she gets older and her voice matures I suspect she’ll define her course. She’s very easy to listen to and the lyrics are stimulating. Thanks so much for sharing this with me!
