Happy Birthday Wrestling Fan!

Making a special birthday cake doesn’t have to take hours. When my older kids were little, I spent all night sometimes drawing the characters and decorating the cake. Short on time these days, I decided to use my son’s toys to help with the decorating. This wrestling ring cake has no ingredients that you have to pre-order or find at a specialty store. See how to make this…
Wrestling Ring Cake
2 boxes cake mix
1 container Funfetti frosting (or 2 containers if you are a frosting lover)
4 Pretzel rods
12 Gummy Lifesavers
12 strings of Licorice
Prepare cakes as directed on box and bake each layer in an 8X8 square cake pan, until toothpick in center comes out clean. Let cool. Place one layer on serving platter and frost. Top with second layer and frost again. Decorate sides with candy sprinkles.
Assemble ropes before inserting into cake:
Place three gummy lifesavers onto each pretzel rod, making sure to space them evenly and leave plenty of room at the bottom to stick it into the cake. Connect the four pretzel rods by stringing licorice between them, holding the licorice in place by poking each end through the gummy lifesaver. Adjust the length of the licorice to make the “ropes” fit your cake and break off excess. Set ring up by pushing the pretzel rods through your frosted cake.
