AKA “Fire” . . . Among Other Things

When the kids ask me what I’m making, a lot of times I say “I don’t know.  Something with ____.”  That was the case with this sweet dish.  It has a french toast flavor, with tiny cubes of cream cheese (rolled in cinnamon & sugar) and fresh blackberries.  My teenage daughter said it was “fire,”  and the naming began.  We tossed out names like French Crackberry (uh, no), Blackberry French Toast Cream Cheese Casserole (too long), Brad Pitt (cause he’s so yummy- I still like that one).  Read my recipe…

In The Crockpot, Why Not?

Banana Bread Pudding

The rapidly ripening bananas were calling me to action, but banana bread seemed too obvious. Stumbling upon the Crockpot Lady, who made a New Year’s Resolution to use her crockpot every day in 2008, I felt compelled to pay homage to this obsessive compulsive cook. And I was so proud of myself until I got to the sauce which I couldn’t just throw in the crockpot. Refusing to use the stove, I whipped up the sauce in a microwavable glass measuring cup. Cinnamon Streusel Cake

A 9X13 pan only lasts about 2 hours in my house because everyone just keeps making the rounds. It is a tasty treat. Great for breakfast, brunch, or carry-ins. With so few ingredients, this is the absolute easiest coffee cake you will ever make!
