Somehow, I didn’t have any bread in the house, but I did have hamburger buns. Their slightly sweet flavor made this one of my favorite beef manhattans. Light and Tasty.


The grill is put away for the winter, but the broiler pan is a promising replacement. A little olive oil, a sprinkling of seasoned salt and dill weed and you’ll feel all warm and fuzzy about this dish. The zippy dill sauce would also be great with steak. See the recipe… (more…)

Jolly Good Mate!

A little beer for the batter, a little for me…very little for me cause I’m a lightweight.  Look.  See.  I took a picture of it on a paper towel on top of a brown bag!  Oh well.  Despite what some of you think, I’m not a perfectionist!  My inspiration was Newcastle Brown Ale, which has a rich, full flavor, comes from England, and is the perfect beer for traditional fish ‘n chips. It’s Good.  What Is It?

I “dress up” my meat so often that my husband hardly knows whether he is eating beef, pork or chicken. I have to do it, or else I’d get sick of meat. And of course, I would have nothing to tell you if I just made the same old thing, now would I? So this is a simple little sauce of balsamic vinegar and tarragon. Read the recipe…
